The Department of Mass Communication has been in successful operation for well over 25 years. It has in its faculty qualified teachers some of whom have vast experience in the field of electronic and print Media. The department was conceived by Dr. Vidya Niwas Mishra the erstwhile Director of the Institute, Ex- Editor Nav Bharat Times and presently Member, Rajya Sabha with active encouragement and support of the Late Dori Lal Agrawal. Founder and Former Editor of Amar Ujala, Agra. The main thrust of the department is to encourage the discipline of Mass Communication among the Vernacular students of the Northern belt of India. Going by success rate and the warm response received from students, an Electronic Media Lab (Studio) has been the sanctioned ofr establishment shortly at K.M. Institute to inpartdents.The students are also taken on educational tours to places like Central production Centre, the News wing of DD, Electronic Media production centre (IGNOU), IFTI- PUNE, AIR and various newspapers of the city. The Department of journalism at KMI has been under successful operation for last 20 years. The aim is to create professional journalists to be absorbed in the fourth estate in the fast growing field. To the department has provided several professional in the field of journalism. This course run by the university is under the self-finance scheme
